Calculate the image height
A 16:9 65″ image is about 0.81 m (2.7 ft) high; a 75″ image is about 0.93 m (3.1 ft) high. The 75″ therefore provides roughly 15% more image height and about 33% more image area.

How to choose the right interactive whiteboard size
Choose between 65″ and 75″ by starting with the farthest viewer, the detail in your content, the seating layout and the available wall—not room area alone.
Compare sizes
Quick answer: 65″ is a practical starting point for compact meeting rooms, training rooms and small classrooms. Choose 75″ when the room is deeper, more people need clear sightlines, or detailed spreadsheets, diagrams and split-screen content are common.

How to use these numbers: the area and audience bands are Kangway planning ranges for common Canadian meeting and teaching layouts—not limits from an AV standard. If the room falls in the overlap, choose by the farthest viewer and the smallest content that must remain readable.
Use image height and viewing ratio—not diagonal size alone
Measure the farthest viewer
For normal presentation and classroom content, a useful planning band is about 4–6 image heights. That is approximately 3.2–4.9 m (10.5–16.1 ft) for 65″ and 3.7–5.6 m (12.1–18.4 ft) for 75″.
Adjust for content detail
AVIXA separates Basic Decision Making content—typical presentations, classrooms and boardrooms—from Analytical Decision Making content such as engineering drawings or medical imagery. Fine detail requires a larger image or a shorter viewing distance.
Viewing ratio = farthest viewer distance ÷ image heightExample: 4.5 m (14.8 ft) ÷ 0.81 m (2.7 ft) = 5.6. A 65″ screen can work for large presentation elements, but a 75″ screen gives more margin for smaller text and split-screen layouts.

START WITH THE FARTHEST VIEWER
Room depth matters more than floor area
Stand at the farthest normal seat and look at the smallest content people must read. A board can feel large at the front yet still be difficult to read from the back. AVIXA’s display-size guidance likewise starts with the farthest viewer and the visual detail required for the task.
For presentations with large headlines and images, a 65″ board may serve a compact room well. For spreadsheets, technical diagrams, dashboards or several windows at once, the 75″ screen provides larger on-screen elements at the same distance.

How far is the last seat?
Measure from the display wall to the farthest regular viewer—not just the centre of the room.
What will people read?
Large slides need less image height than spreadsheets, detailed diagrams and multi-window collaboration.
How are seats arranged?
Multiple rows and wide side seats favour a larger image and a clear mounting position.
Is the wall ready?
Confirm usable width, mounting structure, power, data connections and comfortable touch height.
Three common decisions
Small meeting room or training room
For one table, a short room and up to a small group of participants, 65″ usually gives an immersive touch surface without dominating the wall.
Standard classroom
When students sit in several rows and need to read teaching content from the back, 75″ is usually the safer starting point.
Detailed business collaboration
If teams review spreadsheets, drawings, dashboards or several shared windows, move up to 75″ even when the headcount is modest.

房间深度比总面积更重要
请站在最远的常用座位，观察用户需要阅读的最小内容。白板在前排看起来很大，并不代表后排也能清晰阅读。AVIXA 的显示尺寸规划同样会考虑最远观看者以及任务所需的视觉细节。
如果主要展示大标题和图片，65″可很好地服务紧凑空间；如果经常使用电子表格、技术图、仪表盘或多个窗口，75″能让相同观看距离下的内容更大、更容易识别。
